The Driving Change Program

Reliable transportation is a fundamental pillar of independence. For individuals and families working to rebuild their lives after trauma, a broken down vehicle or an unexpected repair bill can completely halt or even reverse their progress toward stability.

This unique program eliminates this barrier by providing essential automotive repairs at no cost. By collaborating with trusted local shop partners, this initiative ensures that community members can safely and reliably depend on their own vehicles as they navigate the journey to independence.

Why Reliable Transportation Matters

In Idaho, a personal vehicle is not a luxury. It is a lifeline to resources.

With limited public transit and significant distances between client services, driving is a necessity in the Treasure Valley for everyday life and trauma-informed services. When a car breaks down, the impact is felt immediately, and our world feels that much smaller and isolated from help.

Without a reliable car, holding a steady job, reaching therapy, or getting to medical appointments becomes an overwhelming challenge.

Supporting individual transportation is about keeping people connected to their livelihoods. By ensuring families have safe and functional vehicles, we help them navigate a landscape where driving is often the only viable path to maintaining independence and stability.

How the Program Coordinates Impact

Financial Relief: The program covers repair costs for approved clients, ensuring that mechanical emergencies do not create a financial crisis.

Professional Service: All repairs are completed by skilled local automotive technicians, guaranteeing high quality work, safety, and peace of mind.

Sustained Independence: A reliable vehicle allows participants to maintain steady employment, travel to medical appointments, and transport their families safely.
